Self-respect thoughts, A Quote, A great interview, Amazing Article on Anxiousness
Hi All! Hope you are doing great.
Here is my weekly sunday musings for you.
A personal thought on self-respect, a quote that resonated, a great interview and an even greater article on anxiousness. Plus a great house set to get your hips moving.
A personal thought on self-respect
Everyone around me is kinder to myself than me.
I've had moments over the past few weeks where I thought this. "Right now, there's nobody who talks to me as badly as I do to myself." And we all know those calendar quotes like: "Be your own best friend" etc., but this realization was more experiential and felt rather than rationally thought, and it hit me really deeply. And I believe when we truly experience it, it brings more remembrance and change than just having heard things or constantly thinking about them. I realized I don't deserve to speak to myself this way. That was very energizing and relieving.
And please don't misunderstand me. Being good to yourself doesn't mean, for me, convincing myself that I'm great when I'm actually messing up or making excuses and succumbing to them. It means looking at yourself with compassion, respect, and goodwill and asking yourself what you need. Sometimes very gently, but sometimes also clearly and firmly. Especially when it comes to doing things you don't feel like doing but that are good for you. So not self-pity, but standing by yourself and strengthening yourself.
And all of this, I'm convinced, is not a one-time AHA moment and then it's done, but a lifelong learning process. But one thing is clear. I'm allowed to be kinder and more gracious to myself. Only then will I be more so to others.
Be good to yourself.
A Quote, that resonates:
“If you never change your mind, why have one?”
― Edward de Bono
What I am listening to right now:
“AI is Creating a New God - And We´re Not Ready” - Mo Gawdat (Impact Theory Podcast)
That was a great and tough interview about the new “cold war” of AI with very interesting perspectives from Mo Gawdat. There is a part 1 and 2.

Go and get your hips moving!
What Im reading right now:
How to Heal the Anxious Self — David Whyte
Probably the best article I have ever read on anxiousness. If you are also a anxious person from time to time you have to read this one.
I'm currently reading chapters from certain psychology textbooks, which I'm sure you wouldn't be interested in specifically lol.
But im curious: If you could only give one book as a gift to others, which one would it be?
Thanks for becoming better. Thanks for being you and your attention. Never taking it for granted.
Have a great sunday!
In Love,
Joshua
