Don´t read just to read, A quote that resonates deeply, Songs for the week, 2 books I´m curious about
Hi All!
Here is my weekly Sunday Musings.
A learning:
Don’t read just to read.
I have many books at home that I haven’t read yet, and even more on my so-called “booklist” of books I want to read. In the personal development scene, this can cause stress—telling yourself, “I have to read all those books because of X...”
But sometimes, there’s a book I’m genuinely curious about. Maybe it explores a topic I really want to learn more about right now. Maybe it seems like it could help me solve a problem I’m facing in my life.
Most of the time, these are the books we don’t need to schedule time for. These are the ones we inhale, the ones that resonate the most deeply with us.
So, what’s my point? I’ve made the freeing discovery of reading through curiosity. Because when “I have to read...” is the mindset, I’m not fully engaged.
Read because you’re curious or genuinely interested in something—not for the sake of reading itself.
A Quote, that resonates:
“Who can say if the thoughts you have in your mind as you hear these words are the same thoughts I have in my mind as I´m saying them? We are different, you and I, and the qualia of our consciousnesses are as divergent as two stars at the ends of the universe. And yet, whatever has been lost in translation in the long journey of my thoughts through the maze of civilization to your mind, I think you do understand me, and you think you do understand me. Our minds managed to touch, if but briefly and imperfectly. Does the thought not make the universe seem just a bit kinder, a bit brighter, a bit warmer and more human? We live for such miracles.”
